Penisetum clandestinum - Kikuyo

Very resistant to the drought, treading and salinity. It does not hold the cold or the shadow. It must be sown when the temperature surpasses the 25 ºC during the day and 15 ºC at night. Due to its powerful rhizomes, it forms a very dense lawn. It replaces to the grass that is planted of cutting in the Mediterranean area. Needs an underlying fertilization following a balance 1-1-2, that will be repeated annually and followed by periodic contributions of nitrogen of slow release. Sowing dose: 2.5 - 5-10 gr/m2.
