CENTAUREA

It is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches 1 m. height. The stems are stiff and branched and covered with cottony villus. The leaves, also cottony, arranged alternately on the stem. The outer flowers are intense blue, larger and more showy than the inner ones, blue-violet, flowers during spring and summer. Its flowers, leaves and seeds are used for their healing properties, are prescribed for dermatological treatments and conjunctivitis.
